Landmarks are not benefits from the space.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you always get the landmarks when advancing to their space. For example, you'd get the landmark when advancing with the science die from the first space on the Science track, but not the benefits from the space.
You also get the landmark if you pass their space without landing on it, using Dark Ages.
