This creates a lot of confusion in big tournaments, needs a clarification. Or even an implementation os a manual tiebreaker: The tournament orginizer could set the criteria for tiebreaker.

Maybe the meeple left unused could be used here? If you manage to score the same amount of points tying down less work force this would be showing to be more effective as a leader?

No, meeples are commonly used in total in the game. There's chance the tie persists.

In international competitions, in case a match ands in a tie, the winner is the player who didn't start the match.

The logic behind it is that the first player gets to play one extra tile in the total of 71 us the starting tiles in the base name.

This criteria is well accepted in the community.

Hello, I had the same issue just today. I had a draw with a player with an upper Elo in a single elimination tournament, he played first...and after a 90-90 draw, I was eliminated. It's quite frustrating, especially when you force a much stronger player to a tie, and BGA does not apply an internationally accepted rule (in case og a tie, second player wins)

Nice, thank you Thoun, this is a great and really important improvement in BGA rules that will strengthen tournaments and competitive play!

Is this also valid for Arena matches?

Even in ongoing Swiss system or round robin tournaments? (Where there might be players who got 0.5 point for their already finished tied games.)
In my opinion the change should only be used in single elimination tournaments.

Here's an example of the unintended side effects of this change.
In this swiss system tournament there were tied games both before and after the tiebreaker modification therefore some of these games ended with a real tie (0.5 points for both players) and some of them were won by one of the players:

I think we should agree that these kinds of rule changes should not happen during the course of a tournament.

Please improve so that the tiebreaker can be specified in the tournament settings. In Swiss system or round robin tournaments the tie does not necessarily have to be resolved.
